ABOUT THE COMPETITION
Soccer at the VFA Summer Games 2026 is all about energy, intensity, and the love of the game. This isn’t a weekend tournament with guaranteed games. This is a single-elimination competition where every match matters. Win and move forward. Lose and your run is done.
For our youngest players (10U), we’re keeping the focus on play, fun, and skill-building with a jamboree-style format. Each team plays multiple scheduled games with no eliminations — it’s about the experience, not the bracket.
For the older divisions (13U and 16U), it’s game on. One-and-done. Bring your best, play hard, and chase the gold. This is part of the citywide VFA Summer Games — an annual event celebrating youth athletes from across Las Vegas.
WHO CAN COMPETE
- 10U (Ages 8–10) — Jamboree Format (Non-elimination)
- 13U (Ages 11–13) — Single Elimination
- 16U (Ages 14–16) — Single Elimination
FORMAT
13U & 16U — Single Elimination Format:
- One-and-done bracket play. Win and advance. Lose and you’re out.
- Game length: 2 x 20-minute halves, with a 5-minute halftime.
- Finals may be extended to 2 x 25-minute halves.
- Format: 7v7 or 9v9 (final decision based on field space and registration numbers).
- No consolation games. No guaranteed minimum games.
- Awards: Gold, Silver, Bronze medals in each division. Bonus awards for Sportsmanship, Best Hustle, and Best Team Spirit.
10U — Jamboree Format:
- Each team plays 2–3 scheduled games.
- Game length: 2 x 15-minute halves, with a 5-minute halftime.
- 7v7 format — small-sided, fast-paced, more touches, more fun.
- Focus is on participation, sportsmanship, and game experience.
- Awards: Every player receives a VFA Summer Games Soccer Medal. Additional awards for Team Spirit, Hustle, and Sportsmanships.
