Hockey at the VFA Summer Games is a fast-paced, competitive youth experience designed to bring together top local teams across multiple age groups. The format prioritizes meaningful play, fair competition, and athlete safety, all within a high-energy event environment.
All participating athletes will be part of a citywide celebration of sport, health, and community.

coaches must read!
Coaches register the team to secure a spot. After registration, coaches receive a private link to share with families so they can complete registration, payment, and waivers individually

WHO CAN COMPETE
Age divisions: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U (To ensure smooth scheduling and a high-quality event experience, the VFA Summer Games will not separate teams by AA, AAA, or A divisions within age groups.)
Open to club, league, and independent teams
USA Hockey rules apply unless otherwise noted
All athletes must meet age eligibility for their division
FORMAT
Each age group will follow a round-robin + championship format:
Phase 1: Round-Robin Play
Each team plays all other teams in their age group
Guaranteed games for every team
Standings determined by wins, goal differential, and head-to-head results
Phase 2: Championship Games
Top two teams advance to the Gold Medal Game
Third and fourth place teams compete in a Bronze Medal Game
Medals awarded for Gold, Silver, and Bronze
This format guarantees maximum ice time, clear rankings, and a true championship experience.
